screen blacking out

My screen keeps blacking out (for, like, a second) so I changed the video
card and it got worse (second on, second off). I put the old one back in
and it worked the same (it stays on for about 10 minutes and then it blinks
every 1 - 3 mintues). The original card was a AGP and the one that I bought
to replace it was a PCI...any ideas?
