scratching noise when recorded

I've got a PCTV-pro (pinnacle)
When i've recorded something a get a perfect picture but a bad sound. It's
scratching all the time.
What can be the problem?

Sounds to me like it's distorted. Try reducing the volume of your chosen
input via the (recording) volume control panel.
