Scratched CDs

This is not the right place for this but their support
system is inadequate.

My question is.. I have Halo and the CD got scratched
and doesn't work. I was told by someone a while back
that if you have the original CD, you could exchange it
to Microsoft for a new CD for a small fee.

Has anyone heard of this? Could I give them my broken CD
and get back a new one?
