scratch on my installation cd

theres a scratch on my windows 2000 professional cd and i
started to format my hard disk. is there a way that i can
install my windows 2000 professional again. i don't want
to buy a new installation cd again.

Unless the scratch is really, really bad, your CD will still
work the way it should. If it does not then look at this link

if the scratch is on the clear unprinted side you should be able to polish
it off with tooth past or if it's really bad u can use blunted 1200 wet
and dry sandpaper (wet) 2 take out the worst of the scratch then polish it
again with a proprietry cd scratch polish or toothpast ..
i've saved some pretty badly scratch disks this way .. if it's scratched
through the printed saide and it has taken out the data layer it's screwed
