Scheduling classes for school

Good morning everyone.

i hope some one could help me out with this situation.

i was wondering if i can use excel to set up a schedule for classes i
a primary school.

i have many variables such as:-

i have classes from first class to sixth class.
for each class grade, i have first class A, first class B...etc.
for each class there are defined number of lextures everyday.
for each class there are weekly defined number of lextures for eac
subject / course.
there is a defined number of teachers with a daily and weekly limit o
lectures. some teachers may teach more than one course.

now, is it possible somehow to set up an excel spreadsheet with certai
layout to build a weekly classroom lecture schedule for each of th
classes meeting the constraints above, so that when i choose the clas
from a drop list, i will see the weekly course schedule?

Is excel the right application or do you advice me to switch t
something else....

i have no clue on how to start or whether or not i shall accept thi
assignment.

appreciate your help of you ever heared of such application for excel.

From what you are describing I would suggest using MS Access. In Access you
can set up different tables and use queries to show the data in various
ways.
