When I try to set up a scheduled task (WIN-XP-PRO), it wants a password for
the user that's logged on. If I don't put it in there it tells me it can't
(or won't run). I read in the help area of XP that on the properties page
there is a box to check that makes it look like I am logged on and would
force it to run but it still does not run.

What password is it looking for as there is no password on my account for XP
(none that I know of anyway).

Thanks.

Charles

Assign a password to your account, and then set windows to bypass the welcome screen.

Go to Start/Run, and type 'control userpasswords2' /Users Tab/, Uncheck "Users must enter ...." A dialog will appear allowing
setting a user and password to be used automatically at startup.

Thanks Jon. I have figured it out in what I've read and your reply.
