I’m running xp home edition. It has been configured to start up in the administrators account. I have set no password set up , so there is no prompt for login and ect. When I set scheduler to run a program it does not run. In schedulers dialogue box the error massage “The scheduled task did not run because no user account password was entered.†Is displayed… how do I enter a blank password? Can someone please tell me how to get scheduler to work, preferably without changing my startup/login or setting passwords to the account?

Recommended action: Set a password for the user account. Useful in the security context/

Workaround from Kelly:
Backup your registry before modifying. Locate the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa

Value name: limitblankpassworduse
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 0 (disabled) 1 (enabled)

It is enabled by default. Disable it and scheduled tasks should run.
