In Outlook 2000 I could set Outlook to check for new
email automatically (only) while online. Now with Outlook
2003 when trying to do the same thing it continues to
check even when offline. When it does it pops up an error
message because it can't find any because it is offline.
Under "Tools" I can schedule it to check for mail, but I
can't find a way to tell it NOT to check while offline.
The only way I have found to keep it from trying to check
while offline is to check the "work offline" feature
under the file menue. For a while the "Disable Scheduled
Send/Receive" feature worked, but I had to re-install
everything and since then that feature does not seem to
work any more. Seems to me Microsoft has taken a step
backwards not forward with this new version of Outlook.
It used to be a simple process now it is not.
Does anyone know how to set it up to ONLY check while
online without having to tell it so every time you go on
and offline?
Thanks,
Pete
