Scheduled Includes and Images Do Not Appear at Scheduled Time

Does anyone know when Microsoft will fix this problem?

Their FrontPage documentation (FP 2002 help in this case) clearly states:
Display a web page or picture at selected times
1.. In Page view, position the insertion point where you want to display
another page or picture.
2.. On the Insert menu, click Web Component.
3.. In the left pane, click Included Content.
4.. In the right pane, double-click either Page Based on a Schedule or
Picture Based on a Schedule.
5.. Do one or more of the following:
a.. In the During the scheduled time box, type the relative URL of the
page or picture to include, or click Browse to locate it.
b.. To specify a page or picture to display outside the specified time
period, in the Before and after the scheduled time box, type the relative
URL of the page or picture you want to include, or click Browse to locate
it.
c.. In the drop-down boxes after Starting, specify the year, month, day,
and time at which you want to start displaying the page or picture.
d.. In the drop-down boxes after Ending, specify the year, month, day,
and time at which you want to stop displaying the page or picture.
Note The web server's clock is used to determine the time period.

So, the documentation says that the content will appear and disappear at the
specified times. But it doesn't. And Microsoft acknowledges this in an
article titled "Scheduled Includes and Images Do Not Appear at Scheduled
Time." See...

Scheduled includes didn't work in 1998, and they still don't work in 2004.
That's 6 years! We've all paid our good money for a product that is
supposed to work as advertised, yet FP doesn't yet work. When do you think
MS will come through with what we've paid for?

You must open the site at the start of the time period, and run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks for
the change to actually take place. This is how the Schedule Include component works.

You are right, that's how it works. My point is that that's not how MS's
documentation says it works (nor is it how anyone designing a feature like
this would have it work). Doing a recalc is, in my opinion, and in
microsoft's (according to their article) a bypass to the problem. So what
I'm wondering is when MS will fix this bug.

The MS KB link that you provided indicate that is how it works, since the FP extensions do not run
continually. It is not a bug or broken, just how it works.

If component doesn't work the way you would like it to work, then you have to find another method to
accomplish that functionality, such as using a custom written server-side script or JavaScript.

This is not a bug. It's the way it works. The Server Extensions do not run
constantly and monitor the clock for changes like this. In order for the
FPSE to change the include, they have to be called upon to do so.
