Scheduled Include Pages

Is there any way of making these work the way (IMHO) they should? I am
looking for the Included page to change automatically when the clock
ticks over the scheduled time (or at least the next time the site is
browsed after that). If I have to republish or otherwise access the
Web from FP before a Scheduled Include happens (as appears to be the
case), I might as well set an alarm in Outlook and make the change
manually!

The FP Scheduled Include component is working as designed. This is how it
has always worked from the first version.

Consider using a custom server-side script solution based on ASP, PHP, etc.
depending on what is supported by your host.

I realise that it is working as designed - it is the design I have a
problem with!

I have a Perl script that will do what I want as an SSI include, but
the "scheduled block" is to be in the Index page of my site, and I
can't work out a way of managing that without redesigning the site
with a dummy index page jumping immediately to a .shtml "real" top
page. Do you have any other ideas?

I only know how to do this using ASP/VBScript and requires the page to .asp.
You might be able to find a JavaScript to handle this if it is small block
of text, etc.

Can the index page of a site be an ASP page?

It is a small block which changes every day (an "Advent Calendar", in
fact).

T

Yes, as long as the server supports ASP and the host is willing to make the
index.asp or default.asp the first default document.
