Scheduled backups not kicking off. Why not?

I have set up an Incremental backup to run every day. It runs fine when I
run the job manually, but when I set it run on a daily schedule, it never
runs. I look at the schedule calendar and there is an "I" on each day, so it
seems it has the schedule set up.

I am using XP Pro.

What am I "NOT" doing, or what might I be doing wrong?

Thanks...

Do you have a password set up on your account?

When the scheduler asked for a password, I entered one.

I'm not sure if this is important or not, but I logon my machine without any
password. This is a home machine and I am the only user.

Do I need to so something about this? Does my login password have anything
to do with the password I use when I schedule a backup task?

I might add that I had this running a couple of weeks ago. But I had Hard
Disk failure and have had to COMPLETELY rebuild my system from scratch.

Have I forgot to set something else?

Thanks for the comeback.

Snap. I have the same problem in Server 2003 trying to backup overnight to a
share on another server on the domain. It worked for a few days, and now forgets
to do it even though the schedule shows the future dates. The tasks are there on
the calender, but they never go. I'd be interested to know what the solution is.

Yes, if there is no password set on the account for logon task scheduler
won't work.
