NT backup scheduling question

Hello.

I have NTbackup scheduled to run at 3AM everyday. It hasn't run since I set
it up a week ago.

In Scheduled Tasks, I open up the "Backup" item... Under the Task tab,
"Enabled (sheculed task runs at specified time) is check marked.

Under the schedule tab, the "Schedule Task" is set for Daily and Start Time
is for 3AM, and under Schedule Task Daily, it is set for Every 1 day (s).

It's not running though.

Any suggestions of somewhere else I could look?

Thanks.

Bryce.

Sort Scheduled Tasks by details. What does the last result say? This
code may help you. Also, have you given the task the correct username
and password?

Let's start with the obvious, is your computer running at 3 in
the morning? If so, is it in standby mode? If so, you need to
click on the Settings tab and put a check mark in the box next
to "Wake the computer to run this task".

Does the account you're using to run the task under have a
non-blank password? By default, Task Scheduler requires the
account to have a password.

Check the log. Click on the Advance menu on the toolbar and
select "View Log". Look for entries for your backup job and
note any error messages.

Good luck

Hi.

It says for "Last Run Time" --> Never

Status says it could not start.

I've tried to give it a password, and I'm logged in with the admin account.
When I try and apply the password it replies,

"An error has occurred while attempting to set task account information. The
specific error is:

0x80070005: Access is denied.

You d not have permission to perform the requested operation.

---------------------

I'm not quite sure why I get this error being that I'm logged in as admin.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Bryce.

Thanks everyone.

I gave the computer a password and that worked. Indeed, no blank admin
passwords.

You're welcome. Thanks for letting us know that fixed the
problem.
