ScanPST hangs on step 7 of 8

I have a friend whose Outlook hung on them last week without their ability to
restart it. I tried to run the ScanPST a few times and it always hangs on
step 7 of 8. The .pst file is 1.9 GB (I know the limit is 2 GB) and I tried
to truncate the file using the 2GB152.exe tool (Q296088) with the same
results. Of course they don't have a backup. Any other suggestions?

chkdsk and defrag.
you might find a service online that can attempt to repair the damage or
access the data.

Already did the disk maintenance items.
Any suggestions where I might find one of those online services?

I have used the OnTrack software before for hard-drive recovery, but not on
..pst file recovery. Do you have any experience and/or testimonials of the
ability to recover a .pst file when the ScanPST and 2GB152.exe methods don't
work?
