Scanning

Hi was hoping someone out there knows how to default Powerpoint where it will
autofit a scanned image to fill in a full slide. When scanning as is I have
to resize every image to fit and it becomes tedious and time consuming.
Please help.

Well, one quick way, assuming that the aspect ratio of all your images is 4:3,
is to use Format > Background > Fill Effects > Picture. If the image's aspect
ratio doesn't match the slide, the image will be distorted.

Thank you Sonia that worked when I had an image already scanned and saved.
Do you know how to set it to Fill in like that when scanning from Powerpoint?
That is how the employees where I work scan.

No, as far as I know you need to save it to your hard drive.

But before you consider inserting in the background or continuing the practice
of scanning directly into PowerPoint, check with the users to see what settings
they are using when scanning. Are they scanning for Web or Print? What DPI are
they setting? It is very possible that they are over scanning and inserting
images that are way too large to begin with. I would recommend that they scan
the images into an image editing application and resize it correctly there.

explanation. Your presentations may be 2 to 3 times larger than they need to
be. That can have a negative effect on performance, particularly in Slide Show
mode.

I agree with Sonia ... if you can train them to work differently, it might be best.
