scanning to word

Using document scan in XP I scanned a document into Document Imaging then ran
OCR. On the tools menu I selected Send to Word. The document went to Word,
but was so far out of scale it could not be edited. How do I send an OCR TIF
document to word?

You don't send the TIF to Word -- that's the graphic picture of the
page. The result of the OCR processing will be an HTML file with the
same name, which should be in the same folder as the TIF. In Explorer,
right-click the .htm file and select Open With... > Word. You can edit
that file and save it as a .doc file.

document sent to word, but scale of the page was about three times to big.

If you opened the HTML file in Word, there is no such thing as
"scale". If the zoom control is set to 100%, the text will be whatever
size is set in your Normal style -- probably 12 pt.

If you're seeing something much larger, you must have opened a graphic
image.

Give up on the "send to Word" command (I couldn't get it to work
properly either) and just open the .htm from Explorer like I described
before.

Thanks for your help, I'll take your advise and give up on sending to word,
time to go to plan "B".
