Scanning server port

I got a report from a company and told me that one of our IP was scanning their server port an
it has been doing this for a long time. This made feel bad, it just like my kid doing .....
I have to find out what is going on, I did my home work, surf everywhere on internet. I have found som
useful information but none of them addressing this directly. Please share me some lights or point m
to somewhere for information. Thanks

What port was being scanned on their server? Have you checked the
computer with the reported IP address for virus and worms?
