Scanner Suggestions

Mike Schumann

I am looking for suggestions on a moderately priced (<$300) high performance
scanner. I will be scanning letter size color documents (photos) at 300
dpi. My priority is speed. Image quality is secondary.

Does anyone have any suggestions and estimates of scan times? What kind of
interfaces does the scanner support? Note: I will be connecting the
scanner to a Windows XP PC.

Thanks,

Epson Perfection. If you need to do OCR they include Abbyy Finereader
Sprint and if you need a more powerful OCR Finereader is the best
choice, IMHO.

I'll second that. My Epson 2480 is cheap and fast and the quality is great.
Preview of A4 300dpi photos in 8 secs and full scan 16 secs on my system.
