scanner problem

What's up with Vista, why can't this O/S run anything? My Colorado Prima Scan
2400u scanner show to be good in device mananger, but the control panel shows
"unavailable". I've unplugged, replugged, removed drivers, and reinstalled
drivers. Help!!

You did get the new Vista drivers from the Colorado website and installed
them BEFORE connecting the scanner to the PC didn't you?

Yes I did, but it still won't work. Why do printers, and scanners work in XP,
then not in Vista?

My scanner wouldn't work when I switched to XP and never
could get new drivers that worked.

But I didn't blame XP, I blame the manufacturer of my
scanner.

I agree that it sucks. Try VueScan. Most scanners work fine on Vista
with the latest version.
