Scanner Lamp/Bulb

Hi, I need a scanner bulb to replace the one that burned out in my HP
OfficeJet R60 multifunction printer and scanner. Many of these
scanner lamps appear to be universal in type in many modern-day
consumer scanners sold today. Unfortunately the manufactures of these
scanners don't sell bulb replacements to the public and I can't find
any on the web.

The lamp that I have to replace is very thin. To compare it in size,
it is approximately 9.75 inches in length, and the diameter is a
little thicker than a single strand of spaghetti (2.6mm). Overall,
the CCFT lamp is approximately 9.75" X 2.6MM. The only marking that I
could locate on the lamp/bulb is "P6" located at one end of the bulb.
The lamp also has soft rubber endcaps. I have included pictures of
the lamp. Please visit the site below. Do you have this part
available? I appreciate your assistance and please get back to me as
soon as possible.

PS: Where could I get the tiny metal crimps if I have to redo the
wiring to the connectors? The crimps are about 3mm X 2mm.

No, like I mentioned before, this part is not available to the
public!! This machine is less than two years old and I spent nearly
eight hundred dollars for it. Damn HP said that they don't offer the
lamp to the public. They actually told me that my only option was to
upgrade to a newer model by paying them over four hundred dollars for
a piece of crap refurbished model. I hate these tactics that HP is
trying to pull. I couldn't repair my other HP DeskJet printer after
the drive belt (part C4557-40049) deteriorated because the fools at HP
said that they no longer offer this normal wear and tear product and
told me to upgrade!!! This printer is less than three years old!! HP's
business practices are despicable!!! Does anybody else have similar
problems with HP?

Please help me find a light bulb……

You should be able to get that bulb directly from HP. Try their local repair facility or
web site.

If you measure the length in mm you might find a match on Digikey:

http://dkc3.digikey.com/PDF/T042/1318.pdf

In the right column they list "end cap for 2.2mm and 2.4mm Flourescent
Lamp."

Did they offer to replace the lamp in your current scanner for less, or was
it no longer available?
I hate these tactics that HP is trying to pull.

I think most companies try to make some money from their repair services, HP
is not unique in that. However, that repair should be done at a reasonable
cost (parts cost and repair time, where the parts may have been stocked and
thus cost more than only material cost, and repair time includes labor cost,
plus 'some' profit for overhead etc.).
I couldn't repair my other HP DeskJet printer after

Depending on the age of the printer model, that could be an unacceptably
short service life time for a piece of hardware.
This printer is less than three years old!!

Was it current when you bought it?

Their business practices have deteriorated. Loyal customers seem less
important than short term profit, but they are not alone :-(

How long is it? I have a CCFL lamp from a HP flatbed scanner, I'll make you
a real good deal on it if it'll work for you.
