Scanner Events Problem

I have Win 2000 - SP3 installed and a Canon N670U scanner hooked up. Until recently the one-touch buttons on the scanner worked fine. I could hit the Scan, Copy, or E-mail buttons and I would be prompted with an Events window to select what application I wanted to use to perform the action. I set up which applications I wanted to prompted for in the properties section of the scanner from the Scanners and Cameras control panel. Recently though, when I hit the one touch button the Events window pops up, but it is empty. If I go to the properties of the scanner, it shows that I have multiple applications selected. I contacted Canon and they stated that this is an issue with installing SP3 on Win 2000. There workaround is to only select one application per one-touch button. Does anyone out there know how to fix this problem though?

Thanks,
