1. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the hardware to develop
software products (drivers) that are compatible with Microsoft's operating
systems and then to provide Microsoft with these drivers so that they can be
included in the driver library of the operating system. This proceedure has
not changed since Windows was begat. Microsoft does not write hardware
specific drivers. Contact the manufacturer of the particular piece of
hardware in question and ask them why they refuse to support you, their
valued, paying customer.
Epson has a number of XP64 drivers for their scanners. I had Vista64
installed for a short time and as I remember their XP64 driver installed and
worked for my Perfection 3170 scanner.

Did some research seems Epson is the only one with 64 bit drivers...... for
Xp 64 anyway.
