Scaning a Silver CD

Hi
I have a Cannon 3000f scanner
Whenever I scan a cd which is silver in colour with black print, the
scan comes out with random colours but not silver.
I presume it is the scannet lamp that causes this
Anyone know what settings I should set my scanner at to obtain a more
realistic silver colour?

The third page has a manual method.

Try the Scanner's Descreen function. And high resolution. Then resize the
image to your desired size in a photo editor.

To find your scanner's Descreen, search the Help for the Scanner driver.
