ScanDisk Runs Even Though Windows Shut Down Correctly

Although Windows may seem to shut down correctly but
ScanDisk runs each time when i start my computer. I am
unable to find the possible couse for it. I am using
windows XP professional and IDE hard disk drive.

I had the same problem but only on 1 of 4 partions. I
found a knowlege base article that said to perform a scan
from my computer\drive. That worked even though trying
to scan from windows explorer won't run until next boot.
After scanning it, it cleared up the problem and I no
longer get a disk needs to be scanned message at boot.

It is impossible, in WinXP, to have Scandisk running since XP does not
contain Scandisk.

Now, if you are referring to chkdsk, that's another story....
