PC has XP SP2 with all updates.
Spybot completes full scan.
PestPatrol completes full scan.
Norton completes full scan.
Housecall completes full scan.

AntiSpyware stops (100% CPU utilization) part way thru
registry scan.

Scan completed in safe mode, deleted spyware and rebooted
but still won't do a complete scan (tried all scan
options).

Also re-installed but no help.

Rick,
Use MSCONFIG and set it to do a diagnostic startup. I believe that
boots into normal mode but does not load your other software. Then try
running a scan with MSAS. If it works you'll need to start an
elimination process to see if you can figure out which software is
conflicting with MSAS. My first suspects would be your AV software
followed by one of the other spyware applications that are probably
starting up on boot.

yes i had the same problem, i've XP home with SP2,

during my first scan it hungup while scanning a zip file,
when i tried again it hung with the same file, i've moved
the file to a folder and now it finished the scan

interesting thing is during my first scan, it has shown
the path of the file it is scanning but during the other
scans it has shown file names only
