Scan in Safe Mode..how?

Can anyone advise how to perform AV scan in Safe Mode?
Have Norton Int. Sec. 2005 installed with latest updates.

Boot into safe mode (press F8 after BIOS splash screen), log in as
administrator, and launch NAV?

Yes, and I just did this for a client. You get a message from NAV 2005
saying that not all options are available in Safe Mode and do you want
to do a virus scan? You say yes, of course, and it scans.
