Scan Hangup

I have yet to run a complete scan because every time I
try to, once the scan reaches the part where it is
scanning the windows registry, the first file that comes
up starts with HKEY. Once the scan reaches this point it
will just continue trying to scan this registry and never
finish the scan. If this sounds familiar to anyone or
you have a solution let me know.
 
Restart the computer in safe mode, open Microsoft AntiSpyware, on the scan
page choose scan options > full system scan (check the boxes belows) click
"Run Scan Now".
