Hi,
could anyone tell me how the "scan disc" work in MS XP???
what command do I need to execute?? Is it "check disc" ??
Thanks
Youri

Hi

It is check disk. Double click on My Computer, right click on the
appropriate drive, then select Properties>Tools>Error-checking. You also
type

chkdsk /?

from a command prompt to see what switches are available to use check disk
from there.

Hi Youri,

The command, if executing from a command prompt, is chkdsk
If you key in chkdsk /? that will give you the switches that can be used
with chkdsk and their functions.

To navigate to chkdsk from within the Windows GUI, open My Computer,
right-click on the appropriate drive icon, select Properties then Tools tab.
In the Error-checking section, click on the Check Now button. Click in the
checkboxes beside either/both of the Check disk options if you want
either/both performed, then click on Start button.

Regards,
