How do I stop this hopelessly cryptic message from
appearing with every startup?

The procedure entry point
?mfOSIsVersion@@YA_NW4meVersion@@@Z
could not be located in the dynamic link library
CoreDll.dll.

First, go to Start>Run and type "msconfig" without the quotes. Look on
the Startup tab for the probably culprit. You'll have to Sherlock this
a bit. Uncheck the box next to the name, click Apply and OK. Next, scan
for viruses with a current antivirus using updated definitions. To be
sure your computer is clean, also remove spyware with Spybot Search &
Destroy from www.security.kolla.de and Ad-aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to update these programs before running
them. It is best to run antivirus and spyware removal tools in Safe
Mode.

Google search for "coredll.dll" shows it as part of the CE platform of
Windows. Do you have some software installed on your computer for a palm pc
or other compact device of this type? If yes, may want to try disabling it
from running at startup.

Get a spyware removal tool, such as Ad-Aware 6 from www.lavasoftusa.com. It
is free. Then click Start, Run, type msconfig, OK, click Startup Tab and
uncheck any reference to ?mfOSIsVersion@@YA_NW4meVersion@@@Z.
