saving to CDRW does not show "date picture taken"

When I save a photo to a cdrw, the "date picture taken" information is gone
and so is the camera model information. The only date is the date I saved it
to the CD. What use it that? Isn't one of the benefits of a digital photo
to have the date the photo was taken saved forever?
 
This is normal. You can get this info automatically from your hard drive but
not from a CD-R or CD-RW.
If you want this info from a CD-RW, right click on the photo, Properties and
Summary. The info will be there.
If you copy the CD-R or CD-RW back to your hard drive, the info will be
there.
