I can't seems to save settings on exit on my Windows XP Pro machine. It
reverts the display settings each time the computer is restarted. It also
doesn't save any Excel settings, or any other type of setting that would
normally be saved. Any ideas?

I tried that. Still comes up to a 640x480 resolution. This happens after I
log in, but before I can open any programs.

Then 1) update the video card drivers. Get drivers from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the
drivers.

If that doesn't help, swap out the video card for a known-working one.
The original card may be failing.
