Saving sent items in Mail

Hi....I just began using Vista and Mail (versus XP and Outlook Express).
When I send mail from my AOL account (IMAP server) Mail does not save a copy
in my permanent Sent Items folder -- it only puts a copy in my IMAP Sent
items folder, which only archives for 30 days. Express used to put a copy in
my local Sent items folder. Can this be changed? I've already checked th
box that says "Save a copy in my sent items folder" but again, it only puts
on in my IMAP sent items folder -- unlike what Express used to do. Please
help!

I'm having the same problem with Windows mail, using Comcast.
Is there a way to change this option?

We're short of IMAP experts in this newsgroup, so you may have to wait
longer than the other people who come here for a useful answer.

If you have access to another newsgroups server, you might also want to ask
in newsgroup:

comp.mail.imap

Be sure to mention that you are running Windows Mail under Vista, in
case this makes a difference in your answer.
