Saving Sent Items and Deleted Items in IMAP Accounts

I am unable to figure out how to save a copy of sent items to the sent items
folder with my IMAP account. I am also unable to figure out how to send
items that I delete to the deleted items folder instead of permanently
deleting them.

Anybody have an idea how to do this?

Add a rule that copies the sent message to the IMAP's Sent Items folder.

IMAP servers have no "Deleted Items" folder, generally. Instead, when you
delete an IMAP item, it gets marked for deletion on the server (evidenced by
a line through the item), but remains on the server until you purge.
