Saving pure black and white handouts

Hi -

I am trying to print my Powerpoint presentation as a pure
black and white pdf handouts, but I can't seem to select
the "pure black and white" checkbox without it also
automatically saving a "shadow" check for grayscale.

I am trying to limit the size of the handout file, and
don't want grayscale on any of the picture slides.

Any suggestions on how I can just save as pure black and
white, and not grayscale?

On the whole, the only big difference it'll make in the PDF size, most
probably, is if you have a lot of images. If you've tried printing, you've
probably seen that these still appear in grayscale, not pure b/w.

Considering how awful this will make most images, you might want to try letting
it be and instead cranking up the downsampling in Distiller's options settings.
