Saving powerpoint presentations as .jpg files

B

Bernie

When you save a presentation as .jpg files, PowerPoint
will create an individual .jpg file for each slide within
the presentation into a new folder. It saves each slide as
slide1.jpg, slide2.jpg, slide3.jpg, etc. Is there anyway
to change how PowerPoint names those individual slides. I
want to name them differently than slide1.jpg, slide2.jpg
without having to manually rename every slide.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nope. You don't have control of that if you save all of them at once.
However, if you save them individually, you can specify the name.

Bernie,

There is various programs on the net that can rename a batch of file using various options.

I particularly like "Batch File Rename"

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

There is no way to change the naming convention from within PowerPoint, but
if you are using Office/PowerPoint 2003, it includes a image management
tool called Microsoft Office Picture Manager. This tools includes a feature
for bulk renaming of image files.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

Not with PPT itself, but have a look at our Image Export addin at
www.pptools.com

There's a free demo you can try out.

It lets you change the output resolution, naming pattern and so on.
