Saving personalised word configurations % inserting space before "

How can I save my personalised word configurations (like pers.
dictionnary,language options) for ex. on an external disc, to deinstall and
reinstall word afterwards? In documents where I use French as a language, my
Word does not insert the space " " in front of ":" and ";" anymore. However,
he always used to do that automatically (I did not make any changes in my
word). Using "autocorrection" and options linked to languages to sort out the
problem didn't help. The computer doesn't seem to recognise this lack of
space as a mistake, a space however obligatory in French orthography.
(I use German XP 2000, but generally write in French.)
Can anyone help? Informatics around me refered me to you...
