Autocorrect not working in Outlook when not using word as editor

Hello,

I am using Office PRO 2003 SP2 French on XP PRO french SP2 all patches
installed in windows and office

I can't seem to be able to use the autocorrect function in Outlook (it works
well in Word)

Check boxes are set correctly similar to Word.

Please note that the function names, tabs and buttons are my own translation
from French and may differ in the english version....

One problem: I set up the dictionary in Outlook to French (Canada) or French
(France). (Tool - Options Spelling tab)

When I click on the autocorrect, the window name shows (English (UK)
If I delete the MSO2057.acl file (associated to the English (UK) language)
and restart Outlook, a new one is created in
C:\Documents and Settings\{my user name}\Application Data\Microsoft\Office.

I tried copying the appropriate ACL file in
C:\Documents and Settings\dl1\Application Data\Microsoft\

As suggested in another thread.

Whatever language I select, nothing changes. Autocorrect does not work even
if I select English (UK).

If I use Word as my message editor, everything works fine.

Any suggestions to fix this?

Thanks

Denis

After pursuing me research, it seems that the Autocorrect feature only works
with Word as an editor. Most MVPs are suggesting this approach to make it
work, and it does.

I was looking for another solution since the interface suggests that Word is
not an obligation.

I will then use Word until someone comes up with a better solution!

Thanks!

Denis
