saving page locally takes long time

I have a frontpage 2003 (sp2) installation that is experiencing an issue
when making changes to a locally stored html page.
If any changes are made to the page (no matter how much is changed) and we
try to save, this takes approx 30 minutes. The file size nor number of
changes made seem to have any bearing on this.
When save is clicked, frontpage says "processing file
c:\temp\tempie\frontpagetempdir\xxxxxx.tmp" which then changes to "requesting
data" and sticks at this for a considerable length of time.
We have tried different frontpage versions and also, reinstalls etc but to
no avail.

I beleive this to be incorrect and whether its a config change or a corrupt
file somewhere, i would appreciate it if anyone has any ideas to resolve this.

Clear your Temporary Internet and History files and then
go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner.
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The FrontPage Temporary files.
The Cache (*.web) files.

See if it helps.

Thanks for the info but unfortunately this hasn't resolved the issue.
Just as an extra bit of info, if we save the file into a different location
it saves instantaneously.
The problem arises only when saving directly into a web folder.

Thanks for your input on this but after running all suggested tune-ups and
clean-ups i'm still getting the same error.

Did you ever fix this problem? I just started having the exact same problem.
Everything was going fine until the past couple days. I did install some
themes, but I wouldn't think this would be a problem.

I have used FP Cleaner to clean out temp folders but still have a problem.
Anything else I can check?

Thank you.

Haven't managed to fix the problem.
Neither of the pieces of software suggested managed to resolve this issue.

Any more advice would be greatly appreciated.

Luckily I had saved a copy of my website the week before so I created a new
web and imported it. Seems to have fixed the problem. The only thing I can
think of is I corrupted a file when I installed some 3rd party themes a few
days ago. I don't know.
