You have to change your settings through control panel/display/advanced
not from the monitors on screen display, once you have the settings you
want, press apply and ok then it will turn blank then come back on at
the correct display, it will save on reboot. and for the record when
trying to use the monitors menu no your mouse wont work, you have to
use the + and - buttons on the monitor to move through the menus and
push the menu button or ok button to enter submenus.

the screen goes black and asks if i want to keep these settings i say yes
then apply and ok, but when i reboot it dosnt save what i set it to, this is
the problem i need help with. thats why i asked was it something on the
screen i needed to do?

Have a read of this:
http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-10149-0.html?forumID=7&threadID=178764&messageID=1962539

lots of people have the same prob as you and there are a lot of
solutions there, some suggest removing the video card and putting into
a different slot, update drivers, update windows, changing video
acceleration..

Newsreader groups are far better than the web based discussion groups -
easy to use and no need for registration etc and you use it through OE just
like email.

Hi antioch, thanks for that info, i've had my pc for about 9months now and
yes im a beginner, i am self teaching myself, i never wanted to go in to
these discusion groups as i've seen some people write back really rude and
nasty comments, i must be lucky i got a nice person, i still havent fixed my
problem but like you sadi there are heaps of different solutions, so i am
sure to have my screen back on track, soon, thank god.

Oh, there are some nasty ones here as well.
But on the whole, I have found the majority to be most helpful.
I hope you will do as well.
