Saving / Managing color palette for DOS window

I'd like to know if there is way to save the palette settings
for DOS windows. For some reason, there are different settings
for Command.com and CMD.exe sessions and I have adjusted the
color settings in some DOS programs to fit the new palette
but do not know how to save / restore / recreate them. Is there
a Win XP DOS palette management utility that can do this?
I suppose that these settings are in the registry and could
be exported to a .reg/.hiv file if I new the key(s).

Thanks,
Mike

When you apply a change with cmd.exe a window pops up.

It has these two options:
* Apply properties to current window only
* Modify shortcut that started this window

Click Modify shortcut that started this window to apply *whatever* every
time you start cmd.exe.

When you apply a change with command.com a window pops up.

It has these two options:
* Apply properties to current window only
* Save properties for future windows with the same title

Click Save properties for future windows with the same title to apply
*whatever* every time you start command.com.
