Hi,

How can I save a scanned document in PDF format? I have Vista home premium,
and the latest Adobe Reader version.

Thanks

If you can get your document into Word 2007 (and have installed the special
free utility from MS) you can save it as a PDF. Or there are several 3rd
party programs that allow saving in PDF (some even free)...one of which is
Adobe's Acrobat Professional (but it's expensive compared to others). Check
out CutePDF...it works and is free.

Adobe Reader cannot createa PDF, you would need Acrobat for that.

There are other PDF creators; such as GeoPrinter (freebie), but they may not
have all of the capabilities of Acrobat

Adobe Reader, as the name implies, *reads* pdf files, but does not
create them.

Some scanners come with software to create pdf files. Check what you
have first. If yours doesn't, other choices are

1. Adobe Acrobat (the defining pdf program, but expensive)

2. Recent versions of WordPerfect

3. Recent versions of Microsoft Word, with an add-in available from
Microsoft

4. Other free or inexpensive third-party programs like PDF995.
