Saving icon changes

Daily I change my icons on my toolbars to the way I want them. They stay all
day but when I shut down and open up the next day, they have reverted back to
the original state. How do I save the changes in my normal.dot and the
opening blank page?

To find Normal.dot got to Tools, Options, File Locations and the User
Templates to find where it is hidden in your system.
"Open" the Normal.dot, not double click. Do the necessary changes and save.
Doing changes to the Normal.dot can be dangerous so be careful.
Best of luck

Thanks. I've done this (daily!) and still, when I open the next day it is
not there, even though I save it.

I saw a post earlier that Adobe 7 has issue with saving a font as the
default. Could this be the issue as well?

Try Shift+File, Save All, when you have done the changes.
I also use Acrobat 7 and have had some other issues, such as new Autotext
entries not being saved.
I shall do a search and come back with what finally solved my problem for
good.
Hope this helps.

The most common reason for Normal.dot not to be saved is an interfering
add-in, such as that for Adobe Acrobat 7.0, about which see the last section
of:
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm.
from the text "If you don't wish to display the Acrobat toolbar…" onwards.

I did these required actions and all the issues disappeared.
But I have also found that, after a reboot, I had to reinstall the toolbar,
by doing the above instructions again, and I have found that I am now
operating without any of the previous faults with the toolbar present.
Go figure...
Hope this helps.

I'll give it a try and let you know.
Thanks

DeanH:

I tried this. Shut down and started up again. IT WORKED! Hopefully it
will still be there tomorrow.

Thanks for the help.
