saving graphic images from powerpoint slides

I have a huge powerpoint presentation done by someone else with some images
that would be useful in another format. I need to lift the *.jpg images
from the slides and save them as individual *.jpg files. What's the best
way to do this?

Select the graphic, right-click and select "Save as Picture..."

Alternate - PrtScn key does a screen capture to the clipboard, then paste
into your favorite graphic viewer or editor to crop and save at screen
resolution.

Unfortunately that's not working in ppt2000. I right click and get only
these menu options: cut . copy . paste .. show picture toolbar ..
grouping . order .. custom animation . action settings . format picture ..
hyperlink.

For some reason MSPhotoEdit was not loaded by the OEM that built my box, and
the OEM software cds are not in the cabinet where we store everything for
all of our computers on site.

Publish the presentation to a web page, and PowerPoint will kick out all your
images into a folder

Morris,

If you want the original images that went into the file
Extract images from PowerPoint
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00344.htm

Or File > Save as> PNG

Excellent! I had experienced that I had trouble doing a COPY/PASTE from MS
Office apps to non-MS apps, so often used MS PhotoEdit as an intermediary,
but wasn't aware that by pasting into PhotoEdit you could extract at
original resolution. More often than not I used a screen capture to
extract, but of course, that limits resolution to screen res.

Thanks!

Ah yes...I see..I'm running PPT 2002. Looks like the screen capture might
be the only option then.

Relative to PhotoEdit, perhaps the MVP that gave that suggestion will have
a solution.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

There are various, indirect ways of doing this in PowerPoint (as others
have pointed out).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
provide better content management tools for finding, EXPORTING, changing,
replacing, optimizing, deleting, etc. linked, embedded and native content
(without havuing to resort to workarounds VBA or 3rd party add-ins), don't
forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please)to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
