Saving Files

After creating a website in FP 2003, my thumbnails don't work. I'm creating
the same way I did with my old 2000 FP & the thumbnails always worked. As a
matter of fact, when I import my current webpages over to edit, those
thumbnails no longer link. On checking the hyperlinks it has % signs mixed in
with the file names. Can someone tell me what to do?

What exactly do you mean by "import my current web pages over?" You should
be either opening the remote web and editing, or publishing it to a local
copy and editing.

%20 indicates that you have spaces in your file or folder name, these need to be remove from your
web site.

Yes, I've seen alot of posters here asking about "importing" a site into FP
2003 after swapping from 2000 or 2002 etc There is no need to imort; just
open the site in FP2003 as you would in FP 2002/2000/98

File > Open > Site.
Select the site, click Open
File > Open. Select the page to edit.
Click Open and away you go.

The only thing you import is images and other files external to the "web" or
"site" to link to them or insert them into the page.

Hi Kevin,

I'm sure you can tell that I'm no pro at creating websites and
webpages. I have pretty much learned everything by trial and error.
Importing
was probably a poor choice of words. I was referring to my Geocities
website. Here is the real issue/problem. Upon creating a new webpage,
inserting pictures and making them thumbnails, the hyperlinks to the
original picture don't work. I save my work, go to preview, click on the
thumbnail and nothing happens. I have checked the hyperlinks and they
point to the correct location and picture.

Thanks,

Dianne

Make sure that you have a web / site open first (File Menu | Open Web / Site) and that you have
imported all images, into the current open web / site prior to inserting the images on your page and
then creating thumbnail images.
