Saving files on disk (separate folders?)

In my Access-app every order has its own Order.doc file which is easily
retrievable by using the ID-number in the file, like Order_4321.doc.
Opening, saving and deleting doc files is al done within the application.
At the moment I save all files in one folder. This folder now contains about
3000 *.doc files. Can I just continue like this or will I run into some sort
of limit?
Or should I save my files in different folders (let's say 1000 files a
folder)?

Presently, the way you are doing it you are only limited by your hard drive
space. So, save away!
