Saving edited captured avi footage to disk

I have captured footage from my digital camera and edited the clips. I want
to save these clips (my collection) to a disk so that I can free up space on
my hard drive. I then want to pull the clips from the disk and make the
movie. Is this possible and if so, how do it do it??

Hi,
When video is Captured using Movie Maker the source files
are stored on the hard drive (the default location is
the "My Videos" folder under "My Documents"). What is
shown in the Collection is a representation of these files
split into clips. There is method to export clips.

However, you can back-up the source files to another
location, and still edit / use your saved projects as long
as the files are attached to the computer (a second hard
drive, optical disc, networked computer, etc.). Movie
Maker will try to find the file on when you reload your
project, and there should be no data loss if the files can
be located (this may involve browsing to the location of
the file).

Thanks,
Dave
