saving datasheet view

Mickey

I'm using an access project to view data from a Sql Server database. Is
there a way to save the changes I make to the datasheet view (like column
width, order, sorting) in the adp file? It used to ask me if I wanted to
save changes when I closed a table but it doesn't anymore.

Thanks,
Michelle

Dear Midkey:

It seems to me that with query or table datasheets I could just use
Alt-File-Save (Alt-F-S) and it would save these attributes. Try it and see.

Of course, any user can subsequently do the same thing and change these
settings, unless you make the database read-only. If you have split the
database, and don't have the need for any local tables, this may be OK, but
it will probably cause some problems eventually.

Hi Tom,

No, saving doesn't work. When I close and open the table, column widths and
sorting reverts back to the way it was.

Thanks,
Mickey
