Running Vista Home Premium on my Toshiba lap top and have noticed that it
takes longer to save attachments (pictures, etc.) with Windows Mail than it
does on my XP machine. Mail even locked up one time when I was saving 7 or
8 attached picture files all ranging from 67kb to 100kb. Is there a reason
Mail takes so long to save files, and is there a way to make it quicker? I
have 2gb of Ram with a AMD Turion 64X2 Dual-Core TL-56 system. Thanks

Chances are, the slowness is caused by your antivirus program.
McAfee and Norton security programs are known to be incompatible
with Windows Mail.

Thanks for the reply. I am using AVG antivirus, and on my XP machine, it
has no effect of saving attachments from Outlook. I even shut down the
antivirus, and the time to save the attachments stayed the same. It feels
more like a Vista Mail issue, but I guess I can live with it. Thanks.

Turn off the email scanning in AVG.
