Saving a distribution list!

Recent reformattingblew away my address book, fortunately I was backed
up. lost nothing except the distribution list I had has not survived
and I have to make a new one.... big job.

How can I ensure that when I back up my distribution list/group
survives please
 
You backed up what? This would not happen if you were using Outlook and a
PST file.
Tell us what you are using. Include versions.
