Saves audio files as "MPEG Audio" and not MP3

I wanted to download an mp3 of a lecture on the history of
the Olympics. Well, when I right-clicked to download the
mp3 file, my computer saved it as an 'mpeg audio' file and
not as an mp3.

I went to my computer at work, and it saved it as a
regular mp3 file. How can I configure my computer so that
it saves mp3 files as mp3 and not mpeg audio?

windows help.
