Saved documents date is updated

when i open a saved document any dates that were originally typed in on that
document are automatically updated to the current date. How can i prevent
this.
 
It sounds as if the template you are using had a Date filed it in. You
should change the field in the template to a Create Date field to avoid this
happening in the future.
